The Pearls lined up for their second game in 6 days with a friendly against the Pulsars, both sporting the new kits and the first game for the Pulsars. A good sized crowd lined up eagerly at Cheshunt Country Club, thankful that the mornings downpour had ended, though the pitch was a combination of boggy mug and molehills. Neither side let the conditions get in the way of an entertaining game with some great football played and endless running all over the pitch. The Pearls took an early lead after only a minute, Bella rifling a trade mark goal high up into the net. However, the Pulsars didn’t let a lack of substitutes get in the way of an impressive performance and drew level before the end of the first quarter and the second quarter saw a goal for each team with Georgie netting for the Pearls. The game changed in the third quarter when the Pulsars pulled 3 goals clear to end up 5-2 in front but goals from Ella-Mae and another from Georgie meant that the final five minutes was spent looking for an equaliser but sadly none could be found and the Pulsars ran out 5-4 winners. The Pearls should be proud of their battling performance and a great team effort. Time has been spent in training working on using the full space of the pitch and passing more to get the ball forward and both aspects saw noticeable improvement. POTW goes to Georgie with two goals from midfield, tireless running and an incredible spell of defending. A true all round performance to be proud of.
